db&w was founded by Dagmar Bornemann and Michael Wolf in April 2003 as db&w Bornemann und Wolf GbR in Stuttgart, Germany.

db&w is dedicated to developing advanced 3D computer graphics software. We apply state-of-the-art techniques to current 3D software (e.g.: LightWave 3D) in the form of plug-in tools, as individual solutions or OEM versions for our customers.

Our plug-ins infiniMap, nodeMeister, exrTrader, frameD and qckPck optimise the work flow of computer graphics artists all over the world. We empower VFX productions to be faster, smarter and more productive. Our customers become addicts, they don't want to miss our plug-ins any more. Our technology is based on more than two decades of  production experience, i.e.: working with different 3D animation packages on real jobs.

We deliver solutions for the military, for civil engineering and for the entertainment industry. Our solutions are like our company - solid and sustainable.

We do research and development, even for our competitors. Our software development uses a mix of software engineering methods, we are agile and flexible, when others only pretend to be, we do IT-risk analysis, when others don't care. But we don't overdo things, just because they are up-to-date.

excellence, passion and integrity

That's what we stand for. We love our work and we are dedicated to our customer's needs. We are committed to the Code of Ethics adopted in 2018 by the ACM.

We are a team of managers and software engineers from the media industry. We have been lecturers at the "Filmakademie Ludwigsburg" (guess: in rendering technology :-)); we have worked on films, international road shows, CD-ROMs, Web-Sites. We have won prizes and awards.
